I had a Lyman turbo 1200 vibratory tumbler fall in my lap cheap the other day, was originally planning on picking up a wet tumbler and will at some point anyway. What are you guys using for dry tumbling media that works well. I see walnut with a capful of nu-finish or varsol, corn cob, reptile bedding. I hadn’t really dOnT much research as I was set on wet tumbling but for the price I paid this will do for now.

So what’s your preferred type, won’t be using it inside so dust isn’t a big issue. Will use dryer sheets anyway, just looking for something that works well till I grab a FA wet tumbler set up.

Walnut from Princess auto, Nu finish. Don't bother with the rest. You could probably use any polish, but that is what I started with and still use. ( I need to buy a new bottle soon, thanks for the reminder )

I use the crushed walnut for heavily stained cases, but most of my light duty is done with
Lyman treated corn cob media. I have no need for my brass to be "like new" inside and out,
so not wet tumbling for me. Dave.

I mix 50/50 corn cob and walnut media together, and that's it. I always have my RCBS Vibratory cleaner outside on the patio...........no fuss, no dust. Prior to the cleaning and polishing, I clean the necks and shoulders with 0000 steel wool.

Extra fine untreaded corn cob media. I hate picking medial out of flash holes so with the extra fine corn cob, I might get 1-2 case out of 50 with a piece of media stuck in the flash hole.

What Tumbling Media is the Best?
After watching this video I now use reptile bedding (untreated walnut media) and NuFinish it helps keep the brass from tarnishing.
