I recently got my first progressive press at a great price. A Lee Loadmaster. I know it's not a Dillon or a LNL but so far i'm pretty impressed.
The bullet feeder system sucks though and I can't seem to get it to work well but aside from that everything is working quite smoothly. I should also note I hand prime my shells but will try the priming system after I use up my primed stock.

One thing I noticed is that the indexing was a bit chunky so I took my stones to the indexing arm, the indexing arm channel, and the bottom of the shell plate. WOW did that ever make a difference! most of the chunk is gone away and i'll probable do a bit more when I have some time on my hands.

Does anyone else have some suggestions for mods to smooth out this press? It's very usable as is, but I like to tinker and improve :)

Always remember that Google is your best friend for finding information, and your asking your question on the "World Wide Web" and not just one forum. I Googled "Tuning a Loadmaster press" and these were the first two links, ;)

I learned a lot from youtube.
When I'm ready to use mine I start with 1 case at a time till I'm comfortable then go to 2 then 3 etc.

I learned that the pusher that pushes a casing from the feed tube actually needs a slight amount of resistance on the bar that it slides on. I tried to make it slick as snot, and it really messed up the action.

I've been through the loadmaster forums but haven't checked out the ar15 site yet. I guess I forgot to mention what resources I've been through but I didn't see anything on the loadmaster forums about polishing the shell plate so I thought I'd see here if anyone else had some tricks they've tried :)

I actually have magic mikes shake brake ready to install as well, just been a bit too lazy to do it.

Great info there though.

I really like mine. The only problem I have is the primer feed. I never got it to work flawlessly. I took it apart, polished (as much as plastic can be polished) all the parts but I still had too much missing/tilted primers. Looks like the actuator arm doesn't work right all the time. Now I actuate it with my finger and it solve most of the problem. Its part of my loading sequence and doesn't add much time. The loadmaster is a great progressive for the price.

I've bad one for years and I found that it works best WITHOUT the bullet feeder- I grab a handful of bullets and feed them in manually at the station- I can go just as fast and there's no fingers to break if you get a mis-feed
