I thought I'd share my turkey adventures with anyone interested...
Here ya go!

Saturday I got some answers but nothing more. Had another hunter set up close to me, so El Goblito was swaying back and forth in the woods between us I believe.... Kept hearing gobbling from one end of the woods to the other!
Sunday - I saw a few turkeys but wasn't able to get up to them. Saw a huge tom at the bottom of another field and tried to sneak up on him, but there was a huge brook between us & I just couldn't pick a path to get there! grrrrrrrr I'm still keeping my eye on him!
This morning: (So far, this is the best one!)
At my spot at 4:30am & trudge through the field quite sleepily! While I was getting my gear out of my car, I could hear some gobbles from the same spot that I had seen that big ole guy yesterday, so I decided to set up at a differnt location. He answered me back about 10 times, but then some dude came walking right up the middle of that field. I wasnt impressed! I said to myself - "what the heck" and decided to head home for a shower and get ready for work. When I came around the corner in the field where my car was parked, I could hear some loud gobbling accross the road. I stopped, propped up one hen decoy & slipped into the edge of the woods. I gave a call & he answered immediately. I waited a couple of minutes and gave another call. He answered again & I could tell he was closer! I spotted him coming accross the road & gave one more call..... He came darting accross the road but was faced with a fence that he didn't seem to know how to cross! (He was hilarious..... ) He was gobbling, and gobbling & looking back and forth up and down the fenceline wondering what to do... He decided it looked hopeless and crossed back to where he came from...... s**t!
I looked around and decided to walk down the ditch & sit in the woods where there was no fence.... I gave him another call & hoped for the best! He answered... still not far! I waited a minute and tried again. Before I knew it, he had crossed back over & was about 25 feet away from me, but on the road. I just wanted him to come down the ditch so I could shoot! A car crested the hill & he decided to high tail it back across the road again. No turkey but another wonderful adventure! You know..... to me.... the adventure of it all is as good as actually getting food on the table. I had an amazing morning.
I'll give it one last try tomorrow morning.
Thanks for reading!
