Turkey Chokes

I am lost in the maze of turkey chokes for my Benelli Nova 12gauge shotgun. With porting and without. factory or aftermarket. Super full or just extra full. Different name brands? Heavy shot or not? I am confused. Can anyone help me figure this out? I dont really want to blow $100 and find out I spent it on the wrong one! And I have no experience in turkey chokes so any advise is helpful.

You should sight in and pattern your shotgun first with the fullest choke you have first. 90% of your shots should be in 30" target at 40 yards. If your not getting this you may not kill in a 40 yrd range. So you may opt for a fuller choke or a turkey choke.

A ported choke tube would help you reduce some recoil, but this is dependant on what shells your firing. When patterning you could use 2 3/4" shells but make sure to use the same shot size if you plan to use 3" or 3 1/2" shells.

Primos makes a couple of chokes that would not break the bank. They claim that the chokes they design would put 90% of all shots in a 30" target. I'll be picking one up for my Mosseberg and testing it out.

Good luck with your search.
