I just checked and the MNR has finally posted the new changes for the 2007 Turkey Hunt at :

http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/mnr/hunting/turkey/Turkey%20Hunter%20Information%20March%202007.pdf

If you don't have Adobe, it's basically this.

Expanded Spring Hunting Opportunities and a New Telephone Harvest

Reporting System (1-800-288-1155) for 2007

Wildlife Management Units 82C and 94A have been added to the list of open units for the 2007 spring season.

To improve the convenience of harvest reporting, successful turkey hunters must now report their harvested turkey by calling a toll free number (1-800-288-1155) by no later than 12:00 noon the day after the bird was harvested and answering a few simple questions. This replaces the previous system where hunters were required to take their harvested bird to check stations.

When you call, you will be asked to provide information related to your harvest. Fill in the worksheet below before you call so you will be prepared to answer the questions when asked. Your report will not be complete until you have been
provided a confirmation number, so please have a pen or pencil handy when making your call. Keep your confirmation number as your record of having reported.

Harvest report questions:

1. Provide your Outdoors Card Number 708158 x x x x x x x x x

2. Was the turkey harvested in the morning or afternoon? ________________

3. What WMU did the harvest occur in? WMU x x xI

4. How many days did you hunt in that WMU before harvesting a turkey? _______

5. Was the turkey a male or female (Figure 1)? __________

PLEASE NOTE: only males or bearded females are legal during the spring season.

6. Was the turkey an adult or juvenile (Figure 2)? __________

7. How long was the longer spur in millimetres (Figure 3)? _______ mm

8. How long was the beard in millimetres (Figure 4)? _______ mm

Great news! I didn't want to carry my bird to a check station. Makes much more sense to just phone it in. Great to see common sense once in a while.

I always liked going to the check station, its on the way home anyways plus its nice to see who has the biggest bird, i had 4th last year out of probably 40birds...21pounds, biggest was 24lb

This is great for when you shoot your turkey at 7am and the damn weigh station isnt open till 9am so you dont have to wait around to clean the bird
