Turkey shells?

Try different ones. It's like rifles, different shotguns will pattern better with different shells.

i like fedarel with the flight conrol wads thy work great DUTCH

X2 for the Federal flight control 3" no contest the best patterning turkey load and I have tried almost every load on the market.

In what gun and choke did you use those? I bought a box of 3'' 2oz of #5 and a box of the high velocity 3" 1 3/4oz of #5. I've read that they don't like super tight chokes and ported chokes. I have a ported Undertaker on my 870, we'll see how it works.

Feds. Flight Controls seem to work well for me in my 870 with Undertaker Choke. Although, I am a wussy, 2 3/4"ers for me:D, can't stand the recoil anymore, and really, there is no point. I try to keep my shots to within 20 yards, way more exciting that way.:D

My best advice, get together with a couple buddies, you each buy 2 or three differentt kinds of ammo. Try each type of ammo out of your Gun and Choke, whichever one patterns best, use that one. All shotgun and chokes throw patterns differently, the only way to know which one works best in your combo, is to try a bunch of different shells.:D

Did 4 gun shops this week. Not a lot of turkey hunting in BC so most shops only carry steel these days. I was able to find some Fed Flitecontrol 3" #5 in 2oz and high velocity 1 3/4oz and some Remington Nitro Turkey 3" #5 1 7/8oz. If it's nice tomorrow, I'll go see what kind of pattern they shoot.

I use the Remington 4x6 (Come in 2 2/3 and 3") with a Precision Arms choke (the choke was designed for that specific shell).. it's better then any other combo i've tried.
(Precision Arms is in King City)

I shot them out of my Browning BPS,Win SX2 and a Remington 870 all out of tight chokes (.665) and I have not shot a bad pattern with any of them. I shoot 3" 1 3/4 oz #5 but was a little less inpressed with the 2 3/4" #6 although they still shot a turkey killing pattern at 40 yards.

Federal Flight control wads #5 x3" 20" barrel ported choke Remington.
Tightened the pattern to 8" at 20 yrs with no flyers,60% in side 6".
I don't think there is anything better.

these exact same shells throw a modified choke type pattern full of holes in my 870. this is why its very important to pattern different loads in YOUR gun.

too often you hear about guys buying a box of shells and not even taking the time to pattern the load to see how they shoot. "well my buddy joe said they work great in his gun" or "these shells are too expensive to waste" just doesnt cut it.

i use winchester supreme

Here's a pic of mine from another thread. I've patterned Remington NitroTurkey loads 3½ 2oz. #4 trought my BPS Turkey Choke at 25m . The pattern looks good, very concentrated. I would now like to try Winchester Supreme 3½" #4 2¼oz. for comparison.
