I was in Minneapolis this past weekend and met "bubba" at Cabelas. Heinous crimes against historic guns aside, he was a very very nice guy, and he has 3 sets of complete, unfarked Turkish mauser furniture. Are these worth anything? I was thinking about making him a reasonable offer(any idea what this would be?) and using them to restore a bubbaed Turk mauser. Worth my time and money? I've never paid much attention to Turkish mausers, so I'm reluctant to take the stocks on the chance that I might never find a gun to match them to. What do you think?

If I could get them for a fair price, I would buy them. Right now the turks are the underdogs but in time I think people will appreciate them more & there are lots of them with badly cracked or sanded stocks. A friend of mine picked up a beautiful one last week for a whopping $120 at epps. The thing was mint & was the only gun we had that day that shot to the sights with milsurp ammo.

Turk Stocks

I would purchase them if I were you. They aren't making any more of them. I would even buy two of them from you for future restorations.
I have a large selaction of stocks now and you can never have enough wood, or hardware. Some of my wood is No4 new out of the grease.
