What are my options; best sights, disconnectors? Can I buy a factory G34 slide for the frame? I'd really like to swap out the slide just like my AA slide, but if not, how can i add an extended barrel without having the barrel stick out 3inches

Pictures are alot of fun...

BTW, i have NO idea about ipsc, ppc, class or divs etc
oh how about belts rigs

If I may, if you have no idea about IPSC, what inspired you to want to turn a G17 into a race gun that would entail you having to compete against some serious custom rigs from the likes of STI, Kimber, etc... ?

If you want to stay in Production where you have a good chance at competing against similar guns, your choices are limited in terms of parts. No comps, no aftermarket barrels, no FO sights, no magwells, trigger 5lbs or more with factory parts only, etc...

I guess I was questioning whether you can actually do anything with it to compete, I realize now those guns are $3000+..... very nieve I know.... but i keep seeing that dude from freedom ventures up top in the ad running around, got me thinkin of my 17....looks fun.

I also wanted to avoid buying another glock(34)...... If i understand correctly it's intent is for competition? Am I not able to just buy the upper and throw it on the g17 frame ? get some competitve sights, trigger.... and then play away?

For ####s and Giggles I was thinking of buying a second Glock 34 slide, Get a ported barrel that will have ports in the slide cut, Then put a JP sight on the rear slide cut and a racker and run it open.

Does that apply if the model comes compensated?

No, if it's compensated then it's an open gun. I just emailed IPSCBC and they said that if I put in an aftermarket barrel without ports then I can shoot in Standard as long as the gun fits in the box. I've got a G20C and I purchased a .40 barrel.
