I tried to look for it on the internet but couldnt find much information

what's auto indexing when talking about turret presses?

It means every time you pull the lever down the turret head will turn and line up with the next die. eg first pull you deprime. resize the next pull the die will exactly line up with the expander and charge die and push the case into the die. I think i answered your question. AGE

gee, i'm getting old but i have a 3 hole lee turret press that should auto index but inthe 25 years i've had it, i've never gotten the pieces of sh!t to work properly, despite many hours of tinkering and cussing. so, i've always used it as a rotable single stage press.

however, have recently upgraded it to the 4 hole turret which has been working great with respect to the auto indexing. i see that lee completely redesigned the ratching mechanism on the 4 hole upgrade kit which seems to make a difference.

so, if you have a 3 hole turret press, get the upgrade 4 hole kit.

hope this helps

I've had a Lee 4 hole turret press for almost a year now. It's got a couple thousand rounds behind it and so far, absolutely 0 problems. I tried to full length size some 300 win mag cases with the first one I bought a few years ago and split the die holder within the first 20 or so. I took it back and exchanged it, plus a few bucks and got a Rockchucker with no regrets. I use the 4 hole turret I have now exclusively for handgun rounds and it's great.

The old 3 hole turret will handle some pretty good force. I resized a few hundred IVI 308's and they required a lot of force. I also reload 300WM on mine. It generally indexes correctly, but eventually the plastic ratchet needs replacing. I only use the rod for rotating when reloading pistol ammo. Its kind of slow (or is it just me?), it took me around an hour to do 100 rounds. Oh well, I can watch tv at the same time, so its nots so bad.
