We've all watched these shows. Has anyone here been involved in being professionally filmed while on a hunting trip? Just wondering what your experiences were... any thoughts or advice, etc.

I’ve guided two moose hunts for tv. Never again for me. To much extra work involved. 1 Hunt was two episodes and the other never made tv because the hunter made a bad shot with on a 60” moose at less then 30 yards

Less than 30 yds... must have been with archery?

I helped with an episode of Canada in the Rough. The episode featured Delta Waterfowls hunter mentorship program. It gave me a new found respect for the soundman and cameramen. Freezing their asses off and trying to sit still for several hours on frozen ground. Also, it is much harder to hide 5 hunters AND two cameramen and a soundman. Still we ended up with one good goose shoot in the three days of filming. It was an interesting experience but I wouldn't want to do it for a living.

I took a couple fellas (accompanied one, the other a BC resident) on a goat hunt for their tv show, we had a blast. Mind you I talked to the guys a lot prior to the hunt, we knew what everyone’s expectations were prior. The two hunters and camera man were all awesome ppl, to bad the main host of the show (didn’t come on this hunt) was such a F up. The show crashed shortly after.
