Anyone catch this show? Seems kind of cheesy at times but follows IMA military dealers in New Jersey.

First episode they found an Stg44 parts gun and a 1903A3 and no 4 mk 1 they claimed to be original sniper units - with all matching numbers.

Anyway despite being Americans, they stated the no 4 mk 1 was the better sniper rifle in WWII.

It airs on Nat Geographic channel on Tuesdays.

the most accurate of all the ww11 sniper rifles was the pu 91/30 ,they were all tested by professional marksman and the pu was the most accurate hands down .Better than the springfield1903,K98K,enfield

I've herd that to but I still can't believe it but then again they probably made them a bit better then my 42 Tula which is rougher then a washboard covered gravel road, still works I think haven't shot it yet.

Also what time does that show play it sounds good? Is it like those american/ canadian pickers but for guns?

Wern't the No. 4T's made or at least tuned by H&H? I can't imagine any russian rifle being better crafted than something that came from them. And i think desporterizer is right. Also, the eastern from was a pretty target rich environment.

I haven't heard anything about Mosin-Nagant Sniper selection.
I am now interested in reading more can anyone direct me to a site on Mosin Sniper rifles?
I am not trying to be sarcastic.
I have ignored the Mosin-Nagants for years, now that I have 12 or 14 in my collection they are interesting to me.

I have not seen the show, but according to people on Gunboards who have seen it, they were using a 91/30 Repro for their test and not an original sniper.

I doubt the k98 was real either. H&H did a great job but the brits were hampered by low production & goofy scope adjustments. The Germans had a great rifle but a real shortage of scopes & the mounts were so-so at best. Any way you slice it based on production alone, the soviets crushed them all. Simple, reliable, available in sufficient numbers & accurate enough the mosin wins.
