Got two enfields recently.
I'm not totally familiar with enfields and am wondering about why there are two different shapes of trigger guard, around the front screw:

Also, can anyone tell me about these markings:

Or these?

Bottom trigger guard is off a No.5 Mk.1 "Jungle Carbine".

I noticed that it is from a "Faz" build Enfield that started life as a No.4 Mk.1 and was upgraded to a No.4 Mk. 1/2. The only change they made was the trigger pivot to the receiver vice the trigger guard on those.

Top enfield looks like a BSA built in 1943 judging on the markings and the broad arrow. Although, it could have a Long Branch safety on it but it is most likely a "B" stamp and not a LB stamp.

Thanks guys! They're both unfortunate survivors of bubba, but one's restoreable, so it'll get a new set of wood :)

Just a pity the maltby had its barrel cut - it's in beautiful shape otherwise. Ah well, she'll be sold to pay for the Faz's new clothes :p

As noted above, for the Fazakerley you will need a No.4 MK2 type stock, because a standard No.4 MKI stock will not fit without major modification.
