Two Jacked-Up Savage's (FV-SR & FV HM2) with PICS...

Had both of these at the range today... I am very happy with the results. The HM2 shot two consecutive 1/2" groups at 100 yards on the same paper... this was after 100 rounds break-in and sight-in... the FV-SR was very nice to shoot but I have determined that the CCI Quiet LR loads are not a good load in breezy conditions at 50 yards... decent 25 yard groups but they really opened up in the breeze at 50 (4")... switched to SV's out of the FV-SR and went to solid 1" 5 shot groups at 50 yards in a heavy breeze... the actions are still alittle rough but were noticeably smoother to ward the end of the session... I put a couple hundred rounds down each pipe. I couldn't do much more because I was coaching a group of new shooter's who gave a half dozen of my rimfire bolt and semi action rifles a good work out... in total we put a couple thousand rounds down range.

These rifles are both awesome!!! The M2 was more cost effective for me so I got rid of my HMR and got a few more M2's. I can still peg gophers out to 130m on a good calm day and now that we have a cabelas in town ammo is a 3 minute drive away. Too bad nobody wants to sell me any new M2's-Savage still makes them and I know at least 5 guys who want one. H:S:
