Stevens SA in 223 - new Centerfeed action

The barrel in these pics is actually the same barrel. I had the LA set up first for testing while I was finishing the SA. Same brass, same loads, same accuracy.

Nice Jerry!

Those look a lot nicer than the do it yourself synthetic days. :D
Tactical looking bases and everything! :)

Did you hollow out the the forend so it rides on the outside edges?

NO time to build my own right now.

Farrell bases which I have used on all my rigs for a long while.

Dead flat bottom at this time. I set up my front bag so there isn't a hump in the middle so dishing the bottom of the stock is not necessary.

nice looking rigs Jerry, how was the drop in fit of the Richards stocks?

Savage is drying as we speak

Jerry how is the short action working for the 223 with the 90's seated out to the lands?
I have a line on a old CIL/savage single shot and it got the wheels turning again on my end. Its another weird medium action that matches my 110 for length but it is the single shot action, solid bottom..............can you forecast yet another pile of sawdust on my floor cause I can........

These are wonderful actions to work on and the last one I saw, I should have bought.

Oh well, just didn't know what I had in my hands.

No issues single feeding in the SA. With the bullet out around 2.6", no way it will work from any mag. Action can easily work with 3" OAL.

Just starting LR load tuning so got alot of lead to send downrange but so far results are very exciting.

Good luck with your new stock. Check on the bolt spacing and action length. The one I had was a 'tween action length.

it is a 223 now, bolt spacing now just depicts on where I set up the drill press :D
but you must have noticed that by now.
