First question: Is there any marked difference in nation of origin? Seems like everyone prefers to have Eastern European over Chinese.

Second question: What is the process from origin to Canadian retailer? How does this stuff end up here in Canada?

Thank you for your experience and knowledge!

I have used two different batches of Czech ammo and some Chinese stuff. All shot to the same POI, very similar accuracy, functioned 100% and gave no trouble. The Chinese stuff is copper washed which doesn't gunk up the chamber like the lacquer coated Czech ammo.

Chinese is some of the best surplus available. Anyone who discounts it as being "Chinese crap" is speaking out of ignorance and has never shot any. Czech is also excellent, the rest is decent, Polish surplus is the worst for accuracy. Reliability-wise they pretty much all go bang when you pull the trigger.

I keep a stock of Chinese and Czech.

I have used many different lots from china, Russia and also Czechoslovakian ammo. All seemed good, but I do agree that the Chinese stuff was very good. The Czech stuff was also very good and had good accuracy out of a cz 858.
