Edit…..not getting a lot of responses here so posted on Rim firecentral in the Anschutz forum if your interested…

I recently purchased a CZ452 Varmint with Rifle Basix trigger, picked up a Boyds pro varmint stock and older Hawke Varmint 24x scope. Mind you I took my time and bought everything used so don’t have too much into it by some standards. I have been shooting it for about a year now and am getting some really good groups with it. I shoot with a Rock rest and rear bag. I bought this rifle to shoot from the bench at the club as I have lots of other offhand rifles. The only thing I am finding is even though it is very light I just dont love the trigger. I started my shooting with Weihrauch air rifles which have the wonderful two stage Record trigger so I am a little spoiled and would like to have something like that in a modern .22LR. Can anyone suggest some rifles with two stage triggers with removable magazines I should be looking at?
Or else maybe I should just be happy with what I have….

I should add, I dropped the factory stock as I found it much less ergonomic when shooting with bag and rest.

Are there any small bore matches in Southern Ontario to try someone’s rifle these days? I am east of Windsor. Looking online the Anschutz silhouette looks nice. I just hate buying without holding it in hand first.
The wife is planning a trip to Quebec this fall so I think a pit stop at Tesro may be in order.

I am in no real hurry, just wondering what else may be out there.

You can get two stage triggeres for Anschutz. You can also use various 2 stage triggers (Bix'n Andy, Timney, TriggerTech, etc.) for Rimx and Vudoo actions. As far as a 2 stage trigger for your CZ452, I think you might be out of luck as I haven't heard of any.

Nothing to add, but following this thread. I put a RB trigger in my 452 Varmint a couple of years ago, the third RB trigger I've bought. First two went into Marlin 917s and were excellent. Had issues with their trigger in my 452, needed a gunsmith to get it working right. I have to check if I have my OG trigger (pretty sure I do) because it may go in with just a polishing job and a better spring.

Hardhammer, appreciate the suggestion, I would prefer one of these vs building a Rimx or Vudoo, I really only want to spend so much. Also I will only really be shooting against myself. Now to find one to see in person. Is there anything you don’t like or would change about the MSR? I will probably spend what’s left of the summer shooting the CZ and spend the winter looking around but you never know good deals pop up.

I own a cz mtr, tikka upr and recently the msr, no contest the msr is the best shooter right out of the box,
no trigger spring change or chassis needed.
Recently put a new scope on it, left target 1 and 2 are the ajustement, then 7 grouping of 5 at 50, those thing are sweet.
Shot with SK magazine, atlas psr and rear bag.

Hardhammer,
Those are some damn fine groups, thanks for sharing. About the best I have been able to get so far is about .380 with Eley Sport. I keep trying to beat the half inch challenge on here but it may just be me blowing the groups. I need to shoot more vs the occasional weekend when it’s not windy.

Been looking at D&L airgun does anyone have any experience with Weihrauch rimfires?
