Winchester Model 9422 .22 S-L-LR

Serial Nos. F 57732 and F 124498.

Probably purchased back in the 60’s.

I was brought up with the bottom rifle shown in the photo,….the other gun belonged to my uncle which was rarely used.

I am trying to get a sense of what the demand might be for these rifles, and what a reasonable price might be today.

Hopefully the photos give an indication of the condition of these two guns.

Thanks for your help,….I am pretty well out of the loop regarding the value of this stuff.

Red Ryder and Wham-O,

Thanks very much for your expression of interest in either of these two Winchesters, however, I am not quite at the point where they are being offered for sale.

One of the principal reasons I posted these guns on this Rimfire Forum is precisely....... because I don't know what they are worth.

I collect U.S. Civil War arms and militaria and WWII German/American and Russian stuff which I am much more familiar with.

I am out of touch with the value of the rifles shown above and the two pistols below.

These guns were bought new back to the 1960s when my father and I used to shoot them,...they have not been fired for many years.------and I don't remember what they were worth then.

They will certainly be sold at some point.

I can attest to the condition though......quite pristine ...for the most part.

The Colt Woodsman shown below was purchased slightly before the Winchesters, with the Walther PPK/S in 1974.

These are the only modern rimfire guns that I own.

If anyone could provide me with some guidance regarding values on the two pistols shown below I would very much appreciate the help.

David

I find these high polish blued pistols very difficult to photograph.
Capturing the accurate blue finish and getting crisp clear markings is a real challenge....at least it is for me.

Second Series Woodsman Sport Model manufactured in 1954.
(Based on its serial number 138579-S.)

For your information, Winchester introduced the Model 9422 in 1972.

I think you could get between $450 to $550 for each of your rifles.

Paul,

Thank you very much for your response regarding the value for the Winchesters as well as the clarification of the 1972 date for the introduction of the Model 9422.

My records are not all that clear as to purchase dates back then.

Whamo and I have dibs on the 2294's right?
I have one of the last 2294 Magnums made but failed stupidly to get a .22 lr. and yours look in great shape. Let me know.

Wham-O and I have dibs on the 2294's right? Your Winchester rifles look in terrific condition. I have a 2294 magnum but failed to get one in long rifle. Let me know.

Red Ryder,

When it comes time to sell these 9422s I would really like them to go to people that will appreciate them,...which I am sure you guys would.

I have never sold anything on this forum before, but when the time is right these rifles will probably end up here.

I will do my best to remember your interest.

David

Marshall,

Thanks for your 'off forum' thoughts regarding these two pistols and their potential market values ...and the fact that the Colt Woodsman 4 1/2 inch barrel 'sport model' (1954 vintage) might be somewhat more rare than the other 6 inch barrel models.

Also your comment regarding the Walther .22cal. PPk/S being perhaps somewhat more rare than the other calibers that were offered as options with this gun.

You also commented on the positive fact that the original boxes were still present for both pistols.

Marshall , thanks very much for your help, this is the kind of feedback that I was looking for.

David
