thought id start the conversation, been starting to look at the type 81 in more detail, has anyone had positive or negative experiences with attempts to accurize one yet? so far im starting to look at removing the play in the adjustment knob on the gas block and maybe fill that hole under the trunion next to the handguard with a block of wood or somthing in a crude "bedding" sort of method.

I've tinkered with a few things.... Tried tons of different ammo, have finally settled with accepting it's a 5moa gun.

Honestly, the first things to try would be:

1) practise until you use those irons well.
2) or scope the rifle and sandbag it to see if it's still 5moa
3) stone the trigger and sear

The stamped receiver isn't the sole issue. There are a good many accurate stamped guns. At the end of the day, it's a service grade barrel shooting cheap milsurp ammo. You can only expect so much.

Here's my accuracy results... I personally quite like the trigger the way it is. I haven't played with bedding the trunnion or anything. It is odd how inaccurate these guns are, considering the Chinese supposedly designed them to be respectfully accurate, and Chinese SKS rifles often have a good reputation for being decently accurate aswell
