Type 81 AK Triangle Stock Swap

Anyone else think it would be neat to swap the type56 style folding stock for a Russian one? Would it be that tricky?

isnt the t81 folder with cheek rest removed kinda the same but not exactly?

Are you suggesting the type 56 folder will fit on the t81 because it will not as the trunnions block that fits in the back of the receiver is different and has a different rivet spacing. There’s an article on US gun boards where a guy cut welded and cobbled up a Chinese Ak stock trunnions to fit a t81 or vice versa. He made it fit but it was a lot of work and not pretty. —Dieseldog!

Yeah I saw a guy selling one once with a Bulgarian triangle stock, folds to the left. With a skilled enough machinist or gunsmith it should be doable, I believe you'd need to start fixed stock type 81. Personally, I gave up on the idea for myself and got myself a AKM stock that I'm currently fitting to my T81.
