Type 81 AK ZHUKOV stock project

Since Im broke and cant spend any real money on gucci gear for my black rifles, I decided to pull out the SKS81 from the back of the safe to #### around with and keep me occupied.

So The last few days Ive been ordering parts

Tula Bakelite AK pistol grip from AKStuff.com, The Magpul AK-47 ZHUKOV-S stock from brownells, And some threaded Standoff spacers, Button head screws and a 120mm M6X1 screw for the grip from ebay.

Hopefully this will all work out I was actually planning on using a Cz858 side folder but the Magpul Stock was cheaper and by the looks of it easier to modify.

Most of the successful mods with Zhukov Stock I've seen are done on Fixed 81, would like to see a Folder Mod Tutorial

I did order 2, In Case I screw up one trying to get it to fit. But if I dont #### up. Ill part with my spare one.

would like to see a Folder Mod Tutorial

Sell it or trade it for a Fixed stock ! The folders look like a major PITA to remove!

I've noticed the PITA part, and I've Bubbed my 81 already.

Magpul grip is nice, but make sure you get the polymer one with texture.

I got the rubberized one, works ok, but slippery when wet...

Did this a while ago for a customer. Fixed stock type81s work best for this.

Before anodizing. That blue stuff is called dykem, it helps you see layout lines on metal.

Installed my handle. unlike some DIY thats i've seen done, I didnt cut the pistol grip plate on the rifle instead I fitted the grip to it.

Yup. Its like wanting to change the rear tires on ur truck, but yet having to remove the whole rear axle to do so haha

The folders are really nice to shoot as is tho!

Got my Ebay parts today got these for the magpul stock conversion but it also worked wonders on the wooden stock. makes for easy removal and install.

Its 90% good I would say. But if I shape the front to match the T81 grip plate i will loose the Plump colour of the grip. But it matches the rest of the crappy fitting job on the rifle... lol...
