Type 81 folding stock conversion

So had a type 81 with the folding stock and a not a fan of it at all. so did some reading and only found the fixed stock conversion to Zhukov-s folding stock.
So strarted Hacking up my type 81 and here is the end result. Also did the ak47 grip. For the first time doing this swap I'm ok with the quality next one will be better

So, what did you do to the rear trunnion?

I had to drill the rivets out to remove it completely. Then cut the bottom section off. Then drove the 4 pins out of it and tapped the holes

I did cut to much off unfortunately like 3/16 to much. So had to shim it so when I tighten the Zhukov stock it don't go all Crooked

Lot of work, sort of surprised you didn't just trade for someone's fixed stock.

I am with you on this one. The fixed stock sold out fast because there was not much demand for it in the last shipment. Yes, the underfolder has valid concerns but even the fixed stock has horrible LOP and cheek rest is not good either.

Fixed has lots of options to address the issue. Or atleast it did adapter wise..... i have a good feeling numerous styles of wood furniture made by Canadians for 6ft Canadians are not far off.

Agreed. Honestly didn't really didn't care much at all for it with the factory folding stock and grip. Just felt gross to shoulder. Now it feels like something something worth while.
