Just unboxed my T81M underfolder and was playing around with it, checking mag fitment, cycling the action ,etc and somehow my bolt carrier is now stuck in the rearward position. There is no magazine in the rifle and it seems that the trigger is depressed/won’t reset. Additionally the safety seems to be stuck. I’m thinking that maybe something funky is going on with the safety and/or trigger group. Has anyone else run across this and what is the fix?

Happens. Try to push the hammer down with your finger, then you can move it.

I honestly don’t know what you mean by pushing the hammer down. Does the top cover needs to be off to do this? There is no parts breakdown in the supplied manual and this is the first time I have ever even laid eyes on a T81.

The bolt/hammer can get stuck if you pull the bolt fully rearward and pull the trigger. Your hammer is impeding the bolt's movement, that's why the trigger won't reset.

Take the cover off, get a tool or your fingers underneath the bolt to try and get the hammer back, which will allow the bolt to travel again.

When putting the top cover on, this works for me. I never managed to do it like the guy on youtube (dust cover type 81). I put the cover into the little notch up front, then push the rod in just a little bit so it does not hung up in the rail, then push the top cover down, if the button is not all the way out, I use a little screwdriver to push it in BELOW the bevelled button. If I push the button, it always gets hung up. The machining on those is kind of crude, I am always surprised that they never fail.
