So, looking for user feedback on the Type 81 LMG. I’ve read a number of threads on the Type 81SE and SR and some the issues associated to them, (stocks, barrels, etc.) but there doesn’t seem to be as much feedback on the LMG. So any feedback would be appreciated, good and bad. Real interested to hear if the bipod when used has much impact on accuracy overall.

Buy one while you still can with a case of ammo and go shoot it lots. Its a 2-3 MOA rifle so bipod deployment is not really an issue. Reliable and fun...what else do you need to know....

Don't expect accuracy out of these. The stock attachment into the reciever is a weak point if youre going to use it as intended(as a post pounder).
It's ruthlessly simple, and has great reviews for reliability
(has anyone really done a relability test opposed to a "mines reliable afger 600rounds" review?)

I'm mostly into compeition use for all my firearms, so this purchase is pretty out of place in the safe for me. Absolutely love it.

The LMG bipod IMO causes major POI issues. The factory LMG ive been testing cant make the same shots the SR and stripped down LMG make with relative ease.

Got most versions of T81, the LMG version seems to be the best in build quality. None are particularly accurate, all are fun to play with. So a Yay from me,

The biggest downfall of a T-81 is Trudeau . Being as unstable as he is , tough to know what he might decide to ban next via OIC ; and the T-81 seems like something that might make it onto his hitlist . Plus with the Dealers being forced to maintain back door registries . and maintaining sales records now , it increases the risk even more . Hopefully in two more years , Trudeau gets booted from the PMs office for good .

The government is the least of my worries, anyone who thinks that they SHOULDN'T buy a firearm due to pending legislation has rocks in there head, when something is potentially going to get banned I don't buy 1, I buy 3

Can't link because of CGN rules, but any plans to apply a version of your SR bipod/foregrip attachment point solution to the LMG, for those who want to delete the stock bipod but still want a bipod option without a full handguard replacement?

Purchasing a firearm that may be become prohibited in the near future is a consideration for most as it is nice to be able to actually use a firearm for a few years after purchase ; but you are free to spend your cash as you wish . as is everyone else .

And by that point Type 81s could likely be like Valmets, Type 88s, ACRs, BRS 99s etc... guns many wished theyd bought and stashed when they were still available for reasonable prices. Im under the belief that the Liberals will ban a few more semis, the Type 81 likely being one of them. However they wont have the budget to buyback any of them. Amnesty extentions will be granted over and over again. And the then another consideration is what Conservative provinces like Alberta and Saskatchewan will do.

Nothing is in the works regarding that at the moment, but ill keep the possibility in mind.

I liked mine. Heavier than the regular fixed or folding stock, but the longer sight radius was nice, as was the threaded muzzle.

Wasn't a fan of the clubfoot stock, but it's not difficult to swap out for something else, as seen below. Unfortunately the lighter stock made it feel more front-heavy!

how easy was it to swap the stock? I don't like the clubfoot either.

Knock out two pins with a punch, knock the stock out of the receiver with a hammer and wedge; drive new stock into receiver (pin holes in the stock and receiver didn't quite line up in one of these that I did, so I had to drill new pin holes) and tap the pins back in. Maybe a 20 minute job if everything lines up.
