Hello friends,

I am looking for a Type 81 molle compatible magazine pouch that would have flap coverage and preferably hold 2-3 magazines similar to the old Alice pouches.

I have a Type 81 chest rig. I am looking to mount some magazines to a Molle web belt.

Let me know what you are running.

Thanks!

Gator

The SADF pattern 83 chest rig works just fine. Its not a high speed low drag tactical ninja type of rig but it can effectively carry 6 magazines. If you only want to carry 3 then its not too bulky for that either

Can't link, since its not a forum vendor, and not sure if its what you are looking for, but go to Misty Mountain Supplies and search for the Russian SSO Smersh AK Rig.

Seconding this. Looking for Type 81/AK mag compatible pouches/panels/chest rigs.

Misty Mountain also has a Chinese Army Type 56 "Chicom" Chest Rig they say is suitable for Type 81 mags.

You can get single and double ak47 mag pouches from varusteleka, an awesome military surplus store in finland

And Forgotten Weapons merch! They are Ian's new retail partner, and he really loves their gear.

This style fits AK/type 81 mags, for sure, but doesn't have the flap you want. I personally use similar ones

I was hesistant to buy it but I ended up forking out some cash and getting the Onward Research Recce Rig last time they were available. I wasn't sure if it was just BS hype or if it was actually going to be a good purchase for carrying these types of magazines, but it works really well. 4 Type 81/AK mags or up to 8 AR mags. It's comfortable and well made and looks like it'll last the average user a long, long time. With the dangler, it ran me over 300$ to my door but I'm happy with it as a rig that will do everything I ask of it reasonably well and will last me a lifetime of use.
