Wasn't sure I liked the look of the 97... so...

Looks pretty good. I wonder how thick the polymer is on the front handguard regarding support for a forward grip.

is it me or is this gun just plain ugly? I want to like it, but i dont feel anything. It doesnt stir my emotions as a vz58, ak47 or ar15. Perhaps, I may be alone on this.

I think it looks more like a cheap piece of #### than an ugly gun personally, but from I hear they are pretty decent. I'm looking at buying one for a truck/camping gun.

Its ugly and looks like a cheap piece of #### thats why i cannot wait to get the one i ordered.

It would probably look better with the 10 round pistol mag in ;). The large mags make it look off balance. Otherwise, yup it's a bit ugly yet it has a certain appeal.

The rifle balances at the pistol grip for those that don't know. It's quite easy to carry and as balanced a firearm as I've ever tried. The 97 shorty balances just behind the pistol grip. Yes, some of the controls are odd but mods are in the works to fix that. Also, it's much shorter than the pictures convey. It's only 30.5 inches long. That's shorter than a Dominion Arms grizzly!

In person I find it looks a bit better. Tavor is my thing aesthetically, but at 3x the price....

I'll tell you something though - the sniper version looks completely different, and is actually pretty darn good.

Looks OK to me. (Although this picture is actually of an airsoft unit). Not great but ok. The features/price make up for it's looks.
Yes I like the Tavor too. But.... I won't buy one until it's available with a rail and no expensive optics.
