type 99 Arisaka las ditch?

does anybody know how to identify a last ditch Arisaka by the serial numbers? the rifle I have has no series marking and was manufactured at the Nagoya.

I've been warned that the last ditch weapons runs were as dangerous to the weapon ueser as it was the target any help would be appreciated

The "last ditch" or substitute standard Type 99 rifles can be identified in a multitude of ways. Do you have any pictures? And many of the last ditch rifles are safe to fire, best to have it checked by a gunsmith if you are unsure.

I seem to remember the type 99's made near the end of the war had wood butt plates

Some also confuse these with training rifles designed for blanks.[ cast receivers]
