Anyone have any first hand thoughts on these revolvers?,, I handled one in the shop over the weekend,, and now I'm thinking of getting one in 38 special.

Would be interested in any info on reliability, shoot-a-bility, fun-ability,,etc.

I'm interested in one of these revolvers as well. Would like to hear about them from someone who has used one. Have a set of plans to convert a .36 Navy type revolver to cartridge. Did the basic machining on a breech ring. Might be an interesting project.

Same, I talked to a guy at the SFFGC milshoot a few weeks ago that was shooting a SAA about "cowboy" guns, and we got talking about the 71/72 open tops (I think they look real nice and want a pair), and he said he had one in .45 Colt and that it shot really high, and with the fixed sights it was a bugger to work around. But that still isn't gonna deter me from getting one. Any one else?

Shooter's Choice in Waterloo lists them at $535, the Richards Mason conversion for a bit more. That's over $600 del'd. If I could find a decent used .36, I think I would try the conversion.
If one were to shoot high, a higher front sight might be in order.
