Uberti Rolling Block Pistol

Anyone out there have an Uberti rolling block pistol in .45 Colt. I am playing with one right now which is missing the extractor. I made a new one that is my best guess of what the original should have looked like, but the colt shell has such a thin rim, that the extractor does not work.
What is puzzling is that not only is the apparent extractor different from original remingtons but also does not appear likely to work properly. Most puzzling

That small rim is the reason that rolling blocks and lever guns were not chambered for .45 Colt in the old days, the small rim only worked well enough in revolvers.

I am suspicious that a previous owner removed the extractor because he/she had so much trouble with it.

Use a wood stick like the Germans did with them Reich revolvers

Interesting; the extractor they show appears to be center mounted in the breach block. The gun I have has an extractor mounted on the side of the block. Either way, the .45 colt rim protrudes sideways extremely little with almost nothing for the extractor to catch on as Ben mentioned. The original had a slide bar moved by a piece mounted on the side of the breach block and it would have grabbed far more of the rim.

Doug try 45 Schofield cases they have a bigger rim than the 45 colts.

But you can load them up the same unless your useing BP.
