Just had the chance to handle one of these, and the fit did not seem half bad, seemed a bit better than the cattlemans normal feel.
I have never shot a Uberti revolver nor no much about them, other than many shooters that shoot Cowboy action style use them.
Was thinking of moving into a revolver and like what I observed in the target style gun with ok sights and a reasonable price.
Any comments on the Uberti line, or the target style specific?

Don't have a target model, so I can't say. But, I do have a cattleman in .357 which I have found to be ruggedly built and beautifully finished. I've only had it for 6 months, so I can't say if it will last 100 years, though I'd be surprised if it doesn't.

Mine is equiped with fixed sights - a concession to period authenticity. I thought that would be a problem, but I've found that, once I shot a few boxes through it, I got used to where it shoots. I don't intend to get into IPSC and I've always been partial to "Peacemaker" style designs because I like the fact that there are no sharp edges on them anywhere.

I think you'll find that Uberti has a great reputation and, from my point of view, its well earned.

I have a Cimarron Artillery Model in .45 Colt, which is essentially the Peacemaker clone with a 5.5-inch barrel with fixed sights. It is great and I love it. I'd love to have a Colt SAA, but can't afford the $1500 price tag. The Uberti/Cimarron cost about $450 at P&D and is a great alternative. It sure looks good up against my saddle and Canadian Centennial Win 94.
