Ugly Rifle

I got this old piece of junk here.....

it isn't for sale.......

I am just posting this for information. Quite a base ..... a night vision scope mounts in front of the 4.5 x 14 and you can hang stuff off each side as well. The barrel is also threaded....... expensive little beast!

Not mine - I just service these rifles.
.308..... they shoot factory ammo well under an inch on a regular basis.

The texturing and 20" barrel easily gave it away

Tac Ops, the make of these fine pieces of lead launchers, claims that they will shoot .25 moa day in, day out. One of their guys tested it at the Sniper School range, and was getting head shots after head shots, on silouhettes, at 1000yds.

They also make the rifle in other calibers, the name just changes a bit, from tango 51 to tango 52 and other numbers i cant recall.

Don't get me wrong I like the rifle but the texturing job looks like something my cat barffed up.
Heck of a way to dress up an instrument of precision.

Yes, it is butt ugly. Probably okay for short range though, if it's built right. Is that a cat humping the back end??

What type of night vision scope do they use on that rail? And doesnt that rail affect the free float of the barrel?, I guess it doesn't or they wouldnt make it but looks to me more like something you would find on an AR type rifle than a precision rig. It looks cool, all the rails must be for a police aplication, I couldnt see it in a military aplication, lasers flashlights and such.........im intrigued.....kinda like a chicken hypnotized by a line.

Only 4 - 6x48 screws very tight with Loctite and one angled take up screw to absorb the recoil and Loctited too. The base manufacturer supplys both 6x48 and 8x40 screws with it..... owners choice on what to do. The 6x48's come with trick little bushings...
