The AR is an easy money maker for who ever makes it, it has been redefined over the last 40 or so years, so putting out a good shooter is easy(read cheap) for a company, most of the R&D has already been done...

Looks like they put their own spin on the grip and trigger guard. Also does not have a forward assist.

No forward assist on it. The website also claims that M4 style buttstock is fixed length as well. Looks adjustable to me

Regular AR's are forged aluminum upper and lower receiver.

All mainstream AR's are either Forged Aluminum, or Machined Billet. The Swiss Arms rifles are stamped steel...

It is a nice grip.

No reason it can't be under $1000. All the mossberg product currently sells for LESS than MSRP here. So why not the AR. Is there some Magical Tax added?

Ex. 590 A1 shotgun is $680+/- MSRP, sells for $599.

Agreed. I expect that these ones will be comparable to other low-end ARs.
