They deactivated a ####ing flare gun ! I start to think that Britaian may suffer the same fate as Atlantis and sink under its own stupidity.
 
Not to mention the mint all matching No4Mk1T deactivated snipers I saw while I was in the UK last year. Were available for about 2500 stirling. Pissed me right off and stormed out of the building in disgust after telling the chap how I felt about it. Felt badly afterwards because it is now the only way they can sell these once glorious gems of military history.

Supply and demand. The FAC is written so the owner has permission to own one of those, one of them and one of those. If a Brit wants another .308 rifle, he has to sell the one he has or get his papers adjusted by grovelling to the local chief constable. Since British society has turned against gun ownership the number of shooters is declining. There are more guns on the market than there are buyers. Dealers have inventory and estates have guns to dispose of; the bills need to get paid. Saddly, the only option for too many owners is to have the gunsmith weld, grind and chop.

As a British Columbian I resent the "smoking dope" reference (or should I say reeference). All the chronics I know are not as stupid as British citizens, and they have better teeth.
