Discuss. :D

No real surprise, I guess. Given the opinions of others who use these tools on a regular basis and are big boosters of them. Curious about the ACOG's though, which reticle are they using?

It's just the standard TA01NSN 4x32 with the standard reticle. Note the UK radioactive element sticker on the lower one, rather than the usual US NRC sticker.

I know we all argue about this piece of kit or that one, but at the end of the day the guy holding the firearm makes much more difference than the firearm. I'm sure Hadji from Tora Bora would agree. It is interesting however the number of HSLD types have no issue with the AR type rifle, the 5.56 round or, for that matter the 9mm which is constantly getting kicked in the US as being less than optimum.

That's really what it comes down to isn't it?

Real nice but missing the M203.

I think Kev needs to render an opinion on the top gun, I think it's a Colt, I know they've bought them from Colt in the past, not sure if Diemaco ever made them with short barrels or ever sold any to the UK. (Although Colt now owns Diemaco so it's somewhat academic).

Never really seen the point to a BUIS, perhaps someone can enlighten me, the ACOGs are really tough. There was an article in American Rifleman about some soldier in Iraq whose dad bought him one before he went over, and it stopped an AK round.

Back in the days of SUSATs with their crappy mounts I could see the point, but not now.

KAC URXII
There is an adaptor for it to the HK GL... ;)
I will be able to show an 11.5 version soon.

I see SureFire perfected the FH/adaptor for the 10" bbl

Odd about the P226 -- most units with them went P226R for the X200.

I've seen the adapter for the AG36 for the L119A1, in fact here it is:

Is that the same adapter? I lose track of all these modular handguards.

They were purchased in 1996-97, IIRC. You see UKSF are the trendsetters, everyone else copies them. :p

From what I hear the BUIS thing could be just years of conditioning from carrying Elcans :D

im glad im not the only one concept2w, ive personally sent 7.62x39 through a 1/4 inch of solid steel plate (went through like a drill). was it confirmed that it was indeed a bullet that hit that sight? i guess im skeptical because most of the sights and scopes ive ever owned have been 300$ or less (and i know a bullet would destroy them)...maybe the ACOG is indestructible?

Judging by Tim C's post above I would hazard a guess at L119A1.

Tim, maybe the reason they don't have a BUIS in the pic is that the ACOG pictured has a BIUS already attached? At any rate I'm not about to question those guys on their choice of kit.
