Can these be imported/exported from the states with the new ITAR regs etc. I know that some of the M14 mil-spec parts are verboten, but since we can import M1A parts...

Also, if they can be imported, does anyone carry them?

They just look better than the UTG mounts that Fabsports has.

They require an export permit, but they can be exported.

You just have to find an service willing to do it.

Wolverine might do it. Questar might do it.

Email sent to Wolverine. See what they say re: costs. I am thinking it will be 300+ though. maybe more like 400.
If anyone has one laying around that they would like to unload...

So will Brownell's not help out with the exporting of stuff like that? I have no idea what would be involved for exporting.

I had sent them an email asking about it but never heard anything back. Perhaps it's just too much hassle for them.

Until last year Brownells would process small orders that required an export permit. With the recent HUGE and difficult-to-calculate fee increases* (imposed by the DOS on exporters), they have not - to my knowledge, anyway - been accepting these small orders. Last year, Ms. Moranville told me that until this issue was settled they just could not afford to do it.

For this tier, registrants will pay a fee of $2,750 plus an additional fee that i

Does anyone other than fabsports carry the UTG rail? They seem to be out of stock...

Questar sometimes has them as well, or you cab try the Shooting Edge in Calgary (doubtfull). You can also just order them direct from Opsgear in the U.S., it's under the $100 U.S. limit for export permit exemptions, I've gotten 2 from them.

Edit: Just checked their site, M14 UTG Rail $78.99 U.S.

.

Is the export limit exemption for Canada not $500? I know I have made $300 orders of various parts from Springfield Sporters...
I would assume that if the UTG rail can be exported, then so can the Ultimak.
Anyone able to corroborate this?

I've heard that $500 limit number before, but nobody seems to be able to confirm it, or honor it. $100 U.S. is still the majic number, and even then, the manufactorer and exporter have to be licensed and registered for export......the whole thing is just a real cluster####.

Brownell's just sent mine in the mail, albeit last year.
