Now, besides the obvious (In some peoples opinions) blasphemy in mounting a rail on an M1 Garand :p, I'd like to hear anyone's opinion on this mount. I couldn't find any reviews for this particular mount (though I found several of their other mounts, mostly good) I'm going to go ahead and assume its new? In any event, here's the details:

If it's clamped on the barrel it should be solid.

Is there anyone in Canada selling it?

Can it be shipped across the border? I would guess not.

My Garand still has to harvest a deer, so i'm interested.

The company states they do not ship across the border, however they have several Dealers (like Brownells, though they don't list the Garand model yet) that do. If the general consensus is that its design should work, I'll probably pick one up.

Brownells can ship you any Ultimak rail, no problem.

I heard only positive reviews on the other Ultimak rail: rugged, hi-quality, nice, cheap-for-the-quality, lowest mounting (good for cowitness and cheek-rest), help accuracy by stiffning the barrel.

I think it's the way to go to mount an optic to a Garand. You could push the blasphemy by mounting adding an off-set flashlight in front of the optic.
