Lets say..

1) money is not a problem..
2) you want the best of the best on your 10/22
3) if possible with zero accurency drop, stay lightweight

Bull.. aluminium, titanium, space grade alien technology..

What is the best barrel out there ?
 
Ive heard ER Shaw, volquartsen barrels are very good..... but im inclined to think alot of the aftermarket barrels are so good it would be hard to tell them apart. I bought a Dlask 12.5" bbl for my marauder, and i can't imagine any other bbl @ 12.5" would do any better. Its just dead nutz accurate!
 
I hear Green Mountain makes excellent barrels and at a price that wont break the bank. If you like spending tons of $$, then Volquartsen Stainless steel/carbon fiber would be nice for light weight.
Allso, Tactical Solutions have had good reviews and are available at Wanstalls I think.

I have a GM Aero series, TacSol and a Dlask 12.5" Bull. I would say the lightest is by far the GM Aero and the TacSol. Accuracy the best is the GM Aero and the Dlask. So I would say for light weight and accuracy the GM Aero takes it.
 
GM barrel

I recently bought a 20"Green Mountain stainless barrel from Bits and Pieces ( they stock them ) and I am really happy with it. Very accurate compared to the stock sporter barrel and not very expensive. I have to admit, it does add alot of weight to the gun.

You know that if you have a 10-22 with the marauder stock (g36) ans you put a 12.5 inch barrel it become restricted?

If money is no object and your goal is the ultimate 10/22 performance, then I suggest getting one of the threaded barrel Dlask DAR-22's and installing a Kidd 2 stage trigger. Not cheap at all (total would be $1000+), but you would have a superb piece of semi-auto rimfire equipment. Don't forget a good scope as well, there would be no point in cheaping out on glass at that stage.

I have a Shilen barrel I installed on a Savage Mk.II receiver and am very happy with it. It regularly shoots bug holes at 50yds with Eley Sport ammo.
