Ultimate sniper 2006 by john plaster. got a copy? or know where?

Gents,

Do an access to information on everything the CFC and CFO have under your name, licence and personal information. Read the couple 100 pages of information and note the off hand comments noted by the CFC staff, or anything unusual, then complain and have the information removed. That is how I figured out I had a shotgun that I never heard off, nor never seen but it was on my file as being mine. It took almost 2 years to sort it out. You would be surprised what they have on your file. Also request a list of your rifles and all the details on the certificates....you would be surprised the errors that are on them.

This all started about 4 years ago when I went to transfer a pistol from a buddy that I owned years ago and they said, it was already registered to me....turns out it was a direct feed to the old system and it was never taken off me when transfered to my buddy. Got to love it.

I strongly recommend anyone who has a number of firearms to do this. You will be surprised...you might even find comments about magazines....

Cheers

Jeff

If you call the CFC and ask for details, they will give you the name of a lady with an address that you must send your request to for your firearm list and cert information. The second part for the access to information was done via the access to information website on one occasion, and what is called a "informal request" done via the Federal Agency on a couple of other occasions. The informal ones, I called the CFC and asked for my information, just call them up and ask them how to do it. They gave me a contact number and I faxed off a letter with my signature. About a month later, about 100 pages of print outs will arrive.

I hope that helps....go the informal route, less paperwork....

One point, they will only answer the questions that you ask. You need to make sure your questions are broad and open ended enough to get all the info. Mine usually are "I would like all information, data or records held against my PAL, SIN, name and personal details or any internal control number associated to my noted information." Sometimes you might find information and need to request additional information. For example, the mystery shotgun that they had held against my PAL, I got the details by doing an access to information based on cert number after my initial access to information request. It takes time, and patience, you need to understand how the system works and make it work for you....
