I gotta ask. What sorta price did you pay?

I can't say I'm privy to any knowledge about this particular rifle... but it looks nice! I'm assuming NR?

Mine is outfitted with a one of a kind, custom-fitted Galil folding stock. I fabricated the mounting block out of a chunk of tool steel and welded on the cut-down Galil stock that I acquired years ago in the US. It works perfectly - stays firmly closed yet opens with a pull. The ejection port is clear so the rifle can be fired with the stock closed if one is looking to waste ammo. The scope mount is another home-brewed item that worked out pretty well.

Mine is the very last of the series with both an "RA" serial number prefix and the Stoner style vented Rear Sight Wings. They only did the Rear Sight ears on the final batch of rifles. Mine has an RA030040XX serial number.

THE M96 Expeditionary Rifles are excellent firearms with a hand-welded stainless steel receiver and major components for corrosion resistance. A close visual copy of the famus Stoner 63A, the only interchangeable part is the buttstock. The M96s were expensive and time-consuming to produce due to the complex receiver construction/welding, so were premium priced and did not sell in large numbers. There is no current source for spare parts, relegating most M96s to safe-queen collector status. They are a really nice, soft-shooting rifle. It is really too bad that Robinson Armament left owners of the M96 high and dry without spare parts or servicing....

Current pricing is whatever the collector market will bear. Personally, I wouldn't part with mine, including the folding stock and scope mount, for a penny less than $3500. Mine forms part of my "Eugene Stoner collection" and is therefore not currently for sale.

One of the ones I still kick myself for selling.
I see it roll through the EE every once in a while as,it had a very distinctive paint job. Hopefully one time it does I have some spare money and I'll buy it back.

They look sweet but heaven forbid you need a part or service... I sold mine because of the terrible support from RA and the non-existent parts availability. It almost turned mine into a display model as I couldn't get parts for it. Mr. Wolverine came to the rescue for me. They are a bi**h to clean also. They sure look awesome though! Enjoy it!

Nice score! Back in my early teens I really wanted the Bren type top fed version. When I finally got my PAL, they were long gone.
I don't think the Bren configuration ever existed beyond Rob Arms website. Buddy has an M96 and we always planned to build a Bren configuration, just never found the time.

Not correct - the Bren conversion made it into the wild in limited numbers and still come up for sale occasionally. It just consisted of an "upside down" Barrel with offset Foresight and a Receiver "Dust Cover" with an offset Rear Sight. Very simple, actually. Quite a few "Recon Kits" with the shorter 16" barrel were also produced, along with the Green furniture seen above.

I miss mine. I had heard mine was one of the lot that came in right after Bartok's ... I actually gave away my green furniture (to Lazy Snake I think). If RA makes them again ...I will get one.
