Umarex Mini Uzi

Man I am having a hoot with this SMG but what a nasty sting the stock gives your face. Especially in full auto. I seen a real mni uzi on youtube with a paracord weaved wrap around the stock. Think that would help?

Probably - I just got in the habit of not resting my cheek on the stock. Doesn't feel "right" but better than that sting. It caught me off guard the first time too.

Had quire a bit of trouble with it last night. It started jamming up. Round wouldn't go into the chamber and would dump all it's air. Was using Daisy BBs. As it turns out if you clean the barrel and use Crosman Bb's the darn thing works. I will be hunting down some Umarex or Hornady BBs next. Oddly the Drozd SMG I have favors the Daisy over the Crosman and that backs up claims that the Daisy are better made.

It started happening again after only a half dozen mags since cleaning. Even with the Umarex BBs that came with it. I'm at a loss.

Only have the one mag. Still have not figured it out will look close at the chamber.

It is possible that the mag isn't sitting right. What you describe could be a few things.

Take a good look at your mag, where the BB's sit. Make sure it isn't deformed/marked up.

Also check the notch that locks the mag into the grip, look for peening etc.

Finally, if nothing there shows, take an empty mag & put a CO2 cylinder in. Then push the valve in and see if it is sticking; it should just pop right back out. If it is sticking, these come apart pretty easy and should be an easy fix, if that is happening. What you are experiencing (from what you describe) COULD be unrelated to BB's at all and be a sticky valve. OR maybe the mag isn't seating right and the hammer/striker is "floating" the valve (you'd notice marks where the mag locks and signs where the BBs sit).

Have the thing completely apart. Some fun getting the barrel and chamber out. Polishing all moving surfaces with very fine emery cloth. Found that most screws were not torqued at all. All loose. Surprised that quality control is lacking in Taiwan. Will look harder at the mag. Couldn't see any problem with it. Looks like it's constructed like many of the airsoft mags I have and very familiar with the valve problems those have. Will run a few mags without BBs too so I can isolate if this is an ammo issue.

No real luck. Now it stopped dumping all it's air but the cyclic rate had dropped off and the gun runs out of air between 15 and 20 rds.

I have 14 hrs now into troubleshooting this gun. Thank you for your help but I think I am throwing in the towel.

That's too bad - well if I can offer any advice it is to not toss it, but put it in the back of the safe and come back to it at some later date. Chances are some others will start developing the same issue and it will lead to a resolution.

On that, have you asked this question at Canadian Airgun Forum? Lots of knowledge there specific to airguns.
