Cold Alberta winters and not much to do outside cept for freezing my dangly parts off!! I spied the UZI and thought for $200.00 bucks might be fun to play with.Any one held one?? Used one?? Finish and quality?? Or a waste of money?? Just want something different to kill paper targets with!!

x2, love mine - even my wife likes that thing.

It goes through CO2 like nobody's business but it is fun.

BTW you'll have a hard time finding mags...but Amazon has some they indicate are for "airsoft" except that they are not (I took a chance based on the part number & won).

Umarex UZI bb CO2 pistol...need opinions

I've got a full auto AR type I bought last year. I think it's called the Steel Force. Puts a smile on any guys face after their first trigger pull. Mine was around $150 shipped.

If you go airsoft you can get green gas mags that you can use propane in them to save some money, My son has a bunch of different airsoft guns a few in Gas blowback and a few aeg's accuracy is not top of the list but they are fun to play with , some of the airsoft squads train pretty hard with room clearing etc so it will take Tacticool stuff to the next level as far as reactive situations . There are a few good sites in Canada that will sell you decent quality Canada legal stuff that fall under the bbgun unrestricted class as opposed to the clearsoft junk you see at the big box stores .

Again I disagree, especially with a CO2 powered gun.

The gas is used up quickly and once again spray and pray is fine in a game scenario, but shooting alone in your basement is ridiculously silly.

Sorry just my opinion. I'll stop now.

Check. Shooting pop cans in the back yard with my four sons and a full auto BB gun is "ridiculously silly", but a grown man trying to shoot tiny groups in paper with a pellet gun is where it's at.

That does sound like a lot of fun.

My understanding is that the gun is OEMed by KWC, and the only KWC gun I ever bought had about 5 different parts break on it. That said, I know a couple guys who own the airsoft version and they certainly seem to enjoy it.

I've run my Mini-Uzi (BB) for over a year now, it is not used everyday (the cost of CO2 plus the time to load mags being what it is) but I've ran through 1 & 1/2 of the Daisy milk cartons of BB's, no parts broken yet (knock on wood).

I did get a lot of jams at first but after a bit of polishing and use, that has improved.

Having spare mags also helped my cause a lot.

YMMV obviously

I should probably add that my KWC was the PT99, I have not taken apart the Uzi, so I don't know much about it's construction, nor have I dealt with their steel BB models. I was just rather frustrated at the low quality metal used in the PT99, my trigger bar snapped in half.

Fair enough, this one I've got at first glance is a combination of stamped sheet metal and ABS plastic. I was impressed with the construction of the bolt and upper receiver - that said, I would not be surprised if there is some pot metal there in the trigger mechanism as well, if I looked hard enough. Could be a potential for problems down the road. If I have any "spare time" (relative to everything else on my list) then I'll pull it apart this weekend and take a closer look.

Lol that's funny.

Depends I guess.

I use my pellet gun to improve my overall marksmanship. There is a challenge behind it, and that is what I appreciate.

This childs, airsoft toy is not going to do that for you.

I can see it being appreciated by mall ninja's in full out tactifooled up chinese fake plate carriers, and such, while running live fire drills in the backyard, but I expect more from CGNers with real firearms experience.

Just me I guess...

My oldest son is 11. If shooting a BB gun (not airsoft), is what it takes to get him interested in shooting, I am all for it. If you are wound too tight to see the fun in that, well, I guess that's your problem.

I personally use real firearms though to practice my marksmanship - I think most CGNers with real firearms experience would do the same.

Just me I guess...

So scootin around the web , I found replica airguns site. Long story short, the price was very reasonable.Even with shipping and tax it was only $4.00 higher then a gun shop 2 hours from me and saved me $50.00 in fuel and my time. Its the Umarex steel force...6 shot full auto or single shot semi.Dual co2 cylinder so that might get a bit costly but we will see...I should have it in about a week.I still want the uzi...but for now I will have to settle for this..Lets call it a jump at the moment decision..Oh and its not airsoft..it shoots 177 cal steel bb's..

Actually this all came about from last summer.I hit the trout pond every morning on the edge of town to check things. There is a local fish/wildlife club shack there, picnic tables etc etc. There was a lot of vandalism at one point in time so a few of us check the place every day. So one morning I pull in and there is something on the one table. It was a small tackle box ( kids size beginner) and low and behold a big jug of bb"s sitting on the ground. Not hard to put 2 and 2 together. Threw both in my truck, asked around town if any one left them and got no answers. So I ended up with them. Fast forward and was looking thru Cabelas catalogue and hit the air rifle section...Seen the UzI...did some checking and it just went from there.

Worse part is that...I have prohib status,I can own a real firing UZI. But to invest 2k into something I cant legally take out and shoot seems pretty stupid to me. I think it was higher powers leaving me a gift....and a excuse to buy another present for myself!!
