UNbelievable scenes. Deer dies infront of my eyes

I have watched humans, loved ones, die. And I had to have a beloved dog put down. As hunters we expect wildlife to die, but not necessarily without our direct involvement. That video is unreal.

Reminds me of the time I walked up to a fawn and gave her a pet on the forehead. Thing was covered in ticks, fleas and scabs. Ran off when my buddy spotted us "having our moment" lol.
Lots of strange times out in the bush.

walking down a cut line a red squirrel ran out to the end of a pine tree branch and was chattering his face off at me 10 feet away.
A hawk swooped down and grabbed him, I thought poor little s**t should have just let me be.

was rabbit hunting last year a rabbit bolted from under some brush swung my 870 pump gun at the time took a shot found it about 5 or so feet from where I shot it. Took it home as I was cleaning it not one pellet hit the rabbit.

That happened to me once in rural NS about 1981 just before coyotes colonized that province.
Rabbits as thick as all get out. Three of us surround a pile of cut branches invariably about five scamper out.
One was closest to me I overswung shot over its head.
I literally died of shock but that 12 gauge Cooey went off about three feet over its head.
Not one pellet.

Many years ago, three of us teens were walking along a draw in a pasture. A flock of Huns got up and one dropped dead before we got our guns up. We looked at each other, as in WTF? We skinned it out and found absolutely no damage externally nor internally.

PETA must have been capturing and vexinating wildlife for the Chinaflu?

Never likely to see a deer walk up and die if I live a thousand years. But I have shot at birds/animals with shotgun and they've died from no apparent damage... mind you I don't waste time skinning out the head for 100% disclosure of damage and I tend to aim high to minimize meat damage.

Reminds me of the time I was out hiking and stopped to light a smoke. A rabbit came bouncing out of the bush maybe 30 feet from me. Then I hear a swoop as an eagle goes directly over my head, grabs the rabbit and flies off like it was nothing.

I was so stunned that all I managed to do was say wow, then kept walking.

Fantastic video. Wish is phone camera was better then that but hell of a video either way.
ohh man the irony is i walked past my canon camera- thought No i wont need it today- was goin into mum an dads for dinner- an that was that :( i thought about goin back but in that time it may of well died- but thanks , i feel it captured the essence! surreal.
That's a rare experience. The mushy head side of me says he was probably happy to have someone to visit before he went.

I like that idea. :)

For me, the weirdest one was a red-tailed hawk soaring and looking for food. He was a resident hawk at the airport, and I frequently saw him dive down to grab mice, etc. but in this day, the wind was blowing 20 knots and gusting over 30. He went into a dive, and flew into a taxiway head first. No flare, no pull up, no nothing. Just smack, dead.

Dunno if a gust hit him the wrong way, or maybe his depth perception was off, but that the end of him.

I saw that happen with a cow moose back in 2014. She stood in the same spot for two days and would not even acknowlege your presence. At the end of day 2 I stopped to see if she was still in the same spot and sure enough she was only laying there in the long grass dead. Also have pics of a young bull moose that was in the same spot most of a week before he finally was no more to be seen. He had a huge gash and open puncture wound on the inside of his left rear thigh including part of his stomach wall. Looked like maybe he'd gotten beat up by a bigger bull? He may have died where I last saw him for all I know but I never walked into the bush row along the barley field to check after I could no longer see him in his last hiding spot.

When I was maybe 10-12 we were at a restaurant having dinner when an elderly lady at the table next to us having dinner with her husband suddenly had a massive heart attack and fell over sideways onto the floor stone dead. That was the first time I saw someone die in front of my eyes.
