Thanks to Questar for making it happen for me. It says frame made in Germany. It comes with a lock, lubricant, 2 steel mags, SIGLITE Night sights, hogue rubber grip. It is really nice. I love the way it feel in my hand.

Is it legal to not trigger lock the firearm it self but instead just attach locking device on the container like the picture below?

Nice pistol. To answer your question, no. If the pistol is inside a safe it can be unlocked. If you want to keep it in the case it would still have to have a trigger/cable lock on it.

Has to have a trigger lock in a safe or not, only option is in a safe the case doe's not need to be locked, but it needs a trigger lock at all times.

Sadly no it does require a trigger lock as well when being transported.

When stored in a securely locked container or receptacle it does require a trigger lock too. Eg Canadian tire Cabinet.

However when stored in a safe or room specifically built or adapted for firearms storage it does not require a trigger lock or even a cable lock on the case. Eg Winchester Safe

Nice all stainless nitron 226. How much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking? 9 or 40? Night sights? Black or grey mags... If you have a 9mm, buy some 40 mags, you'll fit 13-14 of 9mm legally.

Umm no.

In transport it requires a trigger lock and the case must be locked. If you are storing it at home in a safe it does not have to be cased or trigger locked.

On the topic at hand that is a great gun! You may have the first one in Canada. I have a shiny stainless 226 and that nitron just looks so much more right! Have fun with it!

Well WTH, the guy that taught me my restricted told me I had to have a trigger lock on at all times. Good thing I own 6 locks even though I don't take all of them to the range at the same time

Could have swore that's how it was written in my safety manual, I even asked in the course for clarification on how it was written, guess I've been running overkill all this time.

But yeah nice firearm, enjoy.

Trigger lock always in transport with locked hard case, trigger lock in cabinet, not required with a real, fire proof safe. In a real safe, you can have your pistol ready to go, with a loaded mag right next to it.

Forget what your safety dude at the club told you, many times they don't know the law. Everything is in the stickies for you to verify for yourself.

Price, caliber, options...?

In transit: locked box and trigger lock / In storage: cabinet and trigger lock, or safe no trigger lock. There is a great thread in the legalese forum with the link to the Canadian court ruling on what constitutes a safe. (Hint it does not read the same as some of the interpretations above expounded by CFOs and Firearms safety training courses). Regardless remember it may be more prudent and easier to go above and beyond than to fight it out in the courts.

Good idea to check this out. Always good to CYA and do some reading instead of relying on varying opinions from various forum contributors.

Nice gun, BTW. Have fun with it.

Sorry for being not so specific. Can I cable locked the case without trigger lock the firearm while being stored in the safe? That's what I meant.

I paid $1142 plus tax and shipping, and it is 9mm. It comes with SIGLITE night sights. I believe it is black mags. Is there a diference between black and grey mags other than the colour?

40 cal mags will fit in 9mm firearm? Are you being serious? Have you tried yourself to fit 13-14 bullets in 9mm P226 mag?

Anybody else say that fitting 13-14 9mm bullets in 40 cal mag is legal?

First one in Canada?! That would be really cool if it is true lol

I prefer the nitron stainless one over the shiny one. The shiny one looks like a toy gun to me :p Having said that, it doesn't mean that I don't want to add it to my collection in the future.

5. Magazines for semiautomatic handguns which contain more than ten (10) rounds of a different calibre

Magazines designed to contain centrefire cartridges and designed or manufactured for use in a semiautomatic handgun, are limited to 10 cartridges. The capacity is measured by the kind of cartridge the magazine was designed to contain. In some cases the magazine will be capable of containing more than 10 rounds of a different caliber; however that is not relevant in the determination of the maximum permitted capacity.

Example:
Heckler and Koch P7 pistol chambered for 9mm Luger caliber:
The magazine designed for the 40 S&W calibre variant of the pistol will hold 13 cartridges of 9mm Luger calibre and function in the 9mm Luger calibre P7 pistol. This is permissible as the maximum permitted capacity of the 40 S&W calibre magazine must be measured by the number of 40 S&W calibre cartridges it is capable of holding, which is 10 such cartridges in the case of the HK P7 pistol magazine.

Good choice on your Sig 226. If you decide to buy a 40cal mag for it, do not buy a MecGar, buy a factory Sig mag, they feed perfectly. I fit 14 in mine. I find the grey mags to be way too tight. Makes your fingers bleed just to load them. The black ones are good. I sold my grey mags and bought Mec-Gar 9mm mags. Factory 40 mags work with 9mm.

Attach a secure locking device so the firearms cannot
be fired and lock them in a cabinet, container or room
that is difficult to break into; or
Lock the firearms in a vault, safe or room that was
built or modified specifically to store firearms safely.
For automatic firearms, also remove the bolts or bolt
carriers (if removable) and lock them in a separate
room that is difficult to break into.
