Anybody use this holster? It sounds like it might be a cheap holster that can be used for a variety of handguns.

The thing you've got to understand about nylon, versus fitted leather or fitted Kydex, is that it is cheap. Generally, there will be no retention aside from gravity and/or retention devices like a flap, strap, or thumbsnap, and it is the sort of holster you cannot trust to retain your pistol. Worse is the fact that your pistol will move back and forth within the holster with every step you take, creating far more finish wear than would be created by drawing and re-holstering in a properly fitted holster.

You are far better off buying a gun-specific, job-specific, properly fitted holster, in my opinion.

At my club where we shoot handgun events that do not involve drawing from the holster under the timer my favourite do all holster is my Sidekick hip holster. I originally got the one sized to fit my N frame S&W. Then upon trying it out I found that it also worked very nicely with my 1911, CZ Shadow, S&W 422, S&W 2206, S&W Model 19 K frame as well as the N frame Model 28 that I originally got it to fit. All the guns listed fit decently deep and are not in any danger of falling out unless bouncing heavily while running. And if the retention strap is snapped closed then that's not a danger either.

If you're after a low cost range holster to simply park your gun in between shooting it then you really can't do better. But I'll once again emphasize that it's less than ideal as a competitive holster for drawing from when the timer beeps. But for casual carry around the range it's superb.
