I bought a pound of new Unique to try. What would be a good load for 200 gr lead bullet in 45 ACP ? Would that be better than W231 ? Thanks.

Better? hmmm. It's be different, and probably a little cleaner, depending on the pressure level you were using.
But you'll be using darn near the same charge weight, so the actual buring rate in this cartridge is near enoughto identical.

According to the Pet Loads book I have the most accurate load tested for the 200 gr Hornady lead SWC was 6.0 gr of Unique. It is a midrange load according to my new Hornady manual.

Thanks for the help. I can not find more data and the guy sold me to use
7 gr for 200 gr lead bullet. I think it might be too hot.

I agree that 7 grains might be a little hot.
