It does not swage the crimp enough, it's not really worth it IMO, I will still need to manually process that whole batch through my dillon super swager.
IMO, don't buy it.

Tested it yesterday, really nice piece of gear.
Effortlessly processed 500 rounds or so in 10 minutes....

Not a lot of force required. I don't see how that could damage the press.

If the round is already swaged, it will just bottom in.
If not, you will feel it pop in and out, thats it. Does not require more force than seating a primer in a tight Pocket.

A pleasure to work with. Will have it installed on my press when processing 223 brass. (decap, size, swage).
That way, you don't have to worry about some brass being swaged or not. When you are done, it's all swaged.

Got the large/small combo kit hanging on the wall just getting up the motivation to dig into 2000pcs of IVI 7.62... Really looking forward to trying mine out :)
 
Direct from swage-it or thru uniquetek...

Got the missus to get the swage-it direct shipped from swage-it to her parents AZ house and she ran over to uniquetek and picked up a micrometer powder bar for me as well.

Toolhead clamp kit for dillon 650 standard kit T1230-S (didnt try it yet)
Precision powder baffle for the 650 T1278
The bin-dam for Dillon 650 T1359 (really useful, you can really fill the bin now. I got one for my loadmaster also. a real joy to use for 5$)
Die wrench for dillon presses T1532 (awesome quality item. Should have bought this before. has the lee lockring size also.) Love it. It's really nice and solid. Expensive, but will make adjusting dies a pleasure. The dillon wrench really sucks.

didnt have time to play with it and honestly I probably wont have time until later this summer during my vacation. That's if I decide to install it.... the press works as it is, in fact.

update, IMO, it doesnt swage the brass enough. You still have to push the primers in pretty hard and they pop in.
I should have just bought pre-processed brass instead. Or a 1050.
 
Another update: The dominion primers pop in, but the CCI primers get crushed.
Soooo, imo, that's a swage-it fail, not worth buying that. Either buy pre-processed brass, use a 1050, or the dillon super swage.
 
To be fair I have a Dillon Super Swage and depending on the brass and how the crimp is done, sometimes I need to use a cutter as well.
I've just taken to both swagging and trimming steps in getting the brass properly prepped prior it seeing the press.

No doubt some guy is going to come on and say how well the swage works on the 1050, but in honesty, it doesn't work any better than the Super Swage.
I've done 10s of thousands of pieces of brass and I will always be wary of on-press solutions.
 
If the super swage is not doing it enough, give the screw another quarter turn and you will be fine. Try to prime, if still tight, another quarter turn.... Its strong enough to get rid of all crimps, it even bevels the outside for smooth primer insertion.

Just make sure that its not adjusted too far in, as it will make the primer pockets loose easily. There is an optimal quarter turn that removes all crimp and keeps the pockets tight.

The 1050 has an integrated super swage so it probably works fine if properly adjusted.

Just give it the minimum needed for smooth priming. Try 10 cases and then adjust, re try, then process all brass...

And seriously, if I had to do it again I would get the 1050 instead of the 650 as manually decrimping 2000 cases is such an annoyance.

The issue with the super swage isn't that it doesn't get rid of the crimp. It's that it takes that brass and sends it back into the primer pocket. Depending on how the crimp was done, the only way to clean up some pockets is to remove material. A primer pocket uniformer and a chamfer bit will do that bit of work, but those two tools alone will clean up most crimps without bothering with the swage.
 
True, but honestly, I just swage them and never chamfer or uniform and it always works anyway. I just don't bother. Technically there is still a brass ring on some rounds, I have never taken the time to remove it.

chamfer tool does a nice bevel real quick, true.
 
I sent an email to the manufacturer of the swage-it a week ago regarding my issues (not working properly) and never got a reply.

I processed the 1000 cases left with the chamfer tool to remove excess brass and bevel (1 second per case), and then a pass in the dillon super swage.

Now, all the brass has primer pockets that prime properly.

One suggestion, swage the pockets with the super swage after lubing the cases. It's quite annoying to swage squeaky clean pockets, the rod grips the pocket pretty hard. (like sizing unlubed cases).

Oh well, will try to sell that piece of junk on the EE at half the cost. ....
