I know some CGNer's already took possession of their new toy now and for those who ordered the unissued grade (more money) how is the general condition of the rifle?

Does it worth the difference and was it really "Unissued"?

I am still debating should I get one (or more) and how much to spend (which grade)?

Thx

I don't think there are any un-issued russian sks's. russian re-blues everything before it goes into storage. look at the german 98k's all re-blued. russian has made sks's for a long time.....builds new ak74 etc.........

Huh?What are you talking about?Russia is not Germany LOL thats like comparing LADA cars to MERCEDES cars , Yes there is un-issued SKS's. As for the factory re-furbished SKS's you will find replaced parts with electropencilled, Bolt carriers and barrel etc are painted black. Russia Manufactered them from years from 49 through 55/56 (I need a 49 btw :D) in either condition,

As our esteemed colleague HUNGRY says, Don't buy 1, Buy 2 :dancingbanana:

At these prices, you can choose if you want a shooter or collector.

I have 3 unissued and 1 painted refurb here. For a shooter rifle, the refurb is the perfect gun. I will not be firing the unissued rifles, they are just for collection.

Geez...............you guys make me wants to get one now...........preferably "unissued":D

Anybody knows where can I still find one unissued for decent price?:p

BTW: you guys got the unissued do you mind share some pics so we can all admire????

Forgot to ask: what is the reasonable price for a refurbish one and unissued one?

thx

So, I've read the sticky (thanks Curtton), and if i understand correctly the term 'UNISSUED' should be referring only to non-refurbished and non-fired rifles only??

Does it seem that some retailers are throwing the term 'unissued' around, when its not the case?

I havent received my SKS yet and was just planning ahead in case it does have penciling on it. The part that comes to mind though is the gas tube.

I received two unisued 1954 Tula's. Im going to fire the frig out of them. I take good care of my guns so they will stay in great shape. They will be well loved. Gone are the days of having safe Queens. Do you think there are guys not out shooting there Winchester 94's because they are not building them anymore ( there probably is)
I think it would be more fun to shoot and enjoy them before we all have to turn them into the government. They wont care if its un-issued before the throw it in the furnace.
