Hi, about “screw and glue” method, the front band, gas cylinder and spindle valve are assembled in a fixture,my question is for the Spindle valves is hard, must be annealed,,what is the best Procedure to do it.And is there a drill jig available around, thanks for your info:)

I asked my uncle this same question to see if he had the tools to anneal at his machine shop and run up dry I have heard of ppl welding them at m14 Clinique but have never seen one machined and screwed according to the national match specs !

Just so you know, I 'High Heat JB Weld'ed my gas cylinder and ferrule together, with proper clearances (lower ferrule lip not touching the stock) and its held (and helped?) so far...

The screw and glue method isn't very common these days and a royal pain in the azz even with and annealing oven.
So much room for error that unless you have a pile of spare parts handy... Probably isn't the best route to go.

Ya, I'd try and get one that's already done over trying any other method than TIG , on a heatsink with a rod oven for preheating and slow cooling ideally.

If anyone has access to a TIG machine for doing fine work, I can provide you with all the "how to" details.

And, don't use mig, stick ect they are not at all suitable for unitizing these parts.
