Hey guys, my project for yesterday was to weld my m14's gas system together... so I got er all done and I'm pretty happy with the result, but I was wondering what sort of finish I should put on the bare metal that's left... are there any good blue-ing compounds that would work, or do most people just use a high temperature paint or what?

Hey I've still got some park solution and muriatic acid from the clinic. If we can get a hold of WCMD's park tank we can have a day at the 'PARK' :)
Maybe we can sneak a look at that shop you were talking about too:D

HEY SOSA,

At the SG clinc you told me that park wouldn't work on my unitized gas assembly due to the fact that stainless welding rod was used? Can I re-park the assembly or not?

Sosa: Use a smaller 9" x 9" brownie pan or a loaf pan (Dollarama Store) instead of using the longer park tank by WCMD... smaller, uses less solution, done in your kitchen or garage when wife is not home. :D

Depends on what rod he used.

I'm pretty sure that ert did his welding at home on a MIG, so he probably used a different type of rod.

I was thinking of your's the other day. I was wondering if we could park it anyways and then just touch up the stainless with a type of blueing?

I don't know if it will work so I want to do some digging first.

Yeah I did mine with a Mig... no rods used. Just wire. Different the yours... he arc welded yours.

I am thinking that I would like to parkerize my setup now, but theres a few other things I'd like to do to and then do a batch parkerizing job.

I'll look into the shop and see if we can get ahold of it sometime and I'll let you know the availability Sosa.

Hey Sosa... the shop is a no go right now. He's packing the business up and moving it back into the big city so everythings a mess there right now... :(
