This rifle started life as Long Lee Mk1* (1901) and was converted to CLLE mk 1* (1908). At sometime it was converted to carbine length and Mosinish sling holes added. It only has british proof marks and sold out of service stamps. Interesting little firearm.

Some of the Baltic states were supplied with .303 rifles of various kinds post WWI. I suppose it's not improbable that Finland was supplied with some .303 arms as well during the 20s. The sling slots certainly have the Mosin about them and the Mosin was used by most of the Baltic states at one time or another.

When I day dream about this rifle, I imagine the expeditionary force that went into russia near the end or just after WW1. A group of hard ass volunteers, one of whom was my great uncle.

If I were to guess, if its not a creative bubba its a Baltic (probably Latvian, Lithuania and Estonia mainly used P14s) conversion from the 20s. I like it!

Yes definitely a Baltic State modification, England supplied many obsolete .303 rifles to these States in the 1920's. Very good find indeed.

Looks like it would, it's the same nosecap and the front sight protector doesn't look like it'd interfere.
