I was just taking a look through my Cabelas catalog and noticed a cabelas brand 1x20mm scope and started to wonder about rings,If the objective of the scope was only 20 mm then one would assume the tube would be the same size therabouts so what ring size would you use for it?

Objective diameter is the diameter of the actual lens, not the diameter of the objective bell of the scope. For example; in the Sightron SIII 10-50x60, the objective lens is 60mm in diameter, but the actual diameter of the scope bell is 69mm in diameter. A 20mm scope will in fact have a 25.4mm objective bell, or 1".
